Prompt library

These examples are starting points. Replace the bracketed details, add only context you can safely share, and refine the result with follow-up instructions.

Start here: write your own answer to an input below, then compare it with “Check your result”. You can complete this comparison on this page without an AI account. Sending a prompt to an AI is optional; external research needs the relevant source.

01 / PROMPTS

Explain a difficult idea

Use this when a definition feels too abstract. Ask for a plain-language explanation, a concrete example, and a short check for understanding.

Adaptable template

Explain [concept] for someone who knows [starting point]. Use one everyday example, define unfamiliar terms, and finish with one question that checks my understanding. Do not give the answer to the check question until I try.

Try it yourself

Input example

Replace the template with: “Explain evaporation to a 10-year-old using a wet towel.”

Do this

Send the prompt, answer its check question, then request correction of one specific misunderstanding.

Check your result

A useful explanation says liquid water becomes water vapor; it does not claim all evaporation requires boiling.

Limits

An analogy leaves details out. Ask where the towel analogy stops being accurate.

Summarize a document you provide

Keep the source in view. Ask for a structured summary and request that uncertainty or missing information be called out instead of filled in.

Adaptable template

Summarize the text below for [audience] in [length]. Return: 1) the main point, 2) three supporting details, 3) any uncertainty or missing context. Use only the supplied text. Text: [paste text you are allowed to share]

Try it yourself

Input example

Source text: “The library opens at 9. On Friday it opens at 11. Closing time is not announced.”

Do this

Use the summary template with this text and ask for two bullets plus missing information.

Check your result

Both opening times and the Friday exception must survive; closing time must remain unknown. Remove any invented hours.

Limits

A shorter summary may hide an exception. Keep the source beside the draft.

Plan a small project

A useful plan has a concrete outcome, a time limit, and a first action. Ask the model to expose assumptions so you can correct them before following the plan.

Adaptable template

Help me plan [project outcome] by [date]. My available time is [hours] and these are my constraints: [list]. Suggest three milestones, a first 20-minute action, and assumptions I should confirm. Ask up to two questions if essential details are missing.

Try it yourself

Input example

Goal: make a five-slide class presentation in two hours using existing notes; no paid tools.

Do this

Fill the plan template, allocate time to outlining, slide creation, and rehearsal, then start the first 20-minute action.

Check your result

Check the total is at most 120 minutes, rehearsal has time, and the first action produces an outline. Adjust before working.

Limits

Time estimates are guesses. Stop after the first action to compare actual time with the plan.

Snapshot collected 2026-10-21 (UTC), not a live feed. We have not tried every course, prompt, or server. A listing does not prove quality, current availability, or safety.

Selection: distinct prompts.chat community texts, with an automated exclusion of some explicit unsafe instructions and duplicates. This is not a review of every prompt. Inspect placeholders and permissions before reuse.
